Do you ever need to merge two master records into one? For instance, you may want to combine the historical ledger entries from two vendors into one vendor or completely eliminate a general ledger account? Navigator has merge tools that can do this, instructions are below.

The following master record merge tools are available within Serenic Navigator:

Report ID 37001009 - Merge Vendors
Report ID 37001010 - Merge Customer
Report ID 37001011 - Merge G/L Accounts
Report ID 37001012 - Merge Funds

To access these utilities, click on Tools, Object Designer. From within Object Designer, select Report on the left hand side of the window. Click in the ID field, press Ctrl-F, type one of the ID's above and press Enter. This will take you to the report utility.

Once you have located the utility you wish to process, click the Run button at the bottom of the object designer window. The Merge From Record and Merge To Record fields need to be selected prior to running the utility. Click OK after you have populated those two fields.

All the merge utilities operate the same. That is, you must select a Merge From and Merge To master record prior to clicking OK.

This process will take all of the ledger history and open transactions from the Merge From master record and merge it with the ledger detail and open transactions under the Merge To master record.

Warning: This is not reversible once generated. You must be careful with your selections and only those end users who have the requisite Modify and Delete permissions on the applicable table will be able to complete this process.
